Please note that there is a special lightmap included. The light inside the cabin during the night flights is different from the usual light that comes from a plane flying at night. This is due to the large number of computers and monitors onboard this flying astronomical telescope observatory. The package also includes a flightplan for the plane, to get it flying.

In the read me you arote that SOFIA is mainly in Edwards AFB. But in your FP you have Palmdale as base airport.

Edwards AFB KEDW
Both are correct. The plane is operated by NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center, and is flying from/to Palmdale, but the headquater for the NASA Armstrong Flight Research Center is at Edwards.
